Dr Muhammad Chohan
MBBCh (Wits), FCP (SA), Cert. Pulmonology (SA), FCCP
Dr Muhammad Chohan is a registered specialist physician and pulmonologist with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA). He completed both his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the University of the Witwatersrand. He spent 11 years working in the academic hospitals in Johannesburg.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and a member of the European and South African Respiratory Societies. He has a particular interest in adult asthma and smoking related lung diseases like emphysema.
Dr Bronwyn Schär
Specialist physician and pulmonologist, Dr Bronwyn Schär, completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Cape Town in 2004, before moving to Johannesburg where she embarked on her postgraduate training at the University of the Witwatersrand. She is a Fellow of the College of Physicians of South Africa and completed her Certificate in Pulmonology in 2013. After working in both State and Private Academic hospitals for 10 years, she moved into full-time independent private practice in 2015.
Dr Schär is a member of the South African Thoracic Society, Interventional Pulmonology South Africa (IPSA) and the European Respiratory Society. Her areas of clinical focus include:
- Diagnosis and management of various adult respiratory diseases
- Pre-operative assessment and optimization for major surgery
- Critical care
