Information
Inspiratory Muscle Training and PowerBreathe
The respiratory muscles can become weak due to a number of causes, including advancing in age or medical conditions such as COPD, Asthma, Covid-19, heart failure or pulmonary fibrosis.
Breathlessness which may result, severely impacts the quality of life of our patients.
Together with respiratory physiotherapy and rehabilitation, we are able to objectively test and analyse the strength of the inspiratory muscles using the PowerBreathe KH2 device and software. Thereafter, by using the PowerBreathe Medic or MedicPlus apparatus we can target those muscles and train them to become stronger.
For further information or to book an analysis or purchase a PowerBreathe device visit the website www.powerbreathesouthafrica.co.za or contact Paula Maclaurin Physiotherapy (Suite 12B Life Fourways Hospital/ 011 875 1827).
